Any good tackle shops in Brevard County
Looking for a nice spot to pick up tackle. Went into the Titusville WalMart and found primarily salt water tackle. New to the spec fishing scene I need some direction on local places. I dont mind mail order but will pay extra to a mom n pops place just to keep them in business. Any help is greatly appreciated

I'm sure you're aware of that mom/pop store right there in Bellwood = just south of Pinto's bar, bout 1/4 mile, east side of US-1..............
That would be bout same distance north of the power plant (that sits on west side of US-1)..... (no minnows)
I generally hit "Daniel's" bait shop there in Mims, he gives free ice and that's a big help...
His name is George and got good stuff, etc..... (got minnows)
Doc's got minnows (across the bridge).
Poinsette Lodge has a bait shop right there just east of the bar, but, not too reliable bout opening up early....

Thanks Phantom, I knew about the one by Tico but I will go and check out the one in Mims. The ladies in Docs look at me funny because I used to buy shrimp for the eel I have in my saltwater tank. I guess they couldnt grasp the concept of feeding good shrimp to a pet eel.

+1 on Daniel's. I have never been dissappointed by the bait or service George provides. Plus he has a decent stock of reels, rods, and tackle at reasonable prices. BTW, I thought his name was Daniel till a few weeks ago. Daniel was his son who passed away.

Ya know, awhile back I went into Daniel's and he (George) had several large wolf pups penned up in the back room where the ice machine is, and they were just howling like crazy, and the mom was out back just howling too.
He told me they were wolves, and I believe him upon hearing all of them doing their chorus howling = pretty neat....
I was talking to him early in the season, he mentioned that he might have to close the place due to slow business.
He does run a nice business (free ice/ lots of extra minnows) = great place/folks = give him all the business you can ........
