Fished it a couple weeks ago. Got five but none big enough to keep. Use to do real good there. Don't know what's up with it this year.

Is this the same "Deep Creek" that originates off the St. John's exiting Lake Harney? I've seen on a map that it travels that way, just not sure how far, any-hoo have done good post spawn in years past under the cypress roots, one of the last places to see "old" florida, as I've been told for years. Always take visitor's to see wild life & such... one beautiful area.

That same Deep Creek (the one just west of Harney north river entry) is awesome for warmouth toward the back. One day a year or two ago we landed over 40 of them in less then an hour. They sure were fun, and a pleasent surprise

Bobber fishing with minnows hiding from the wind that day.

65pontiac, how long ago? Wonder how the water quality is now after the SJRMD put in the system to deal with the Ag run-off.

I buried (underwater) 7 bars of gold up in there (Deep Creek/Harney's) bout 15 yrs ago.
Made a map but lost it, been trying to re-find them bars ever since...........
They're wrapped in nylon netting bag so snatch hook could possibly find em.
    However, I ain't tellin nobody bout em ! ! ! !

You know I was just in there a while ago. While casting a sinking plug I snagged a nylon bag that came to the surface but had a big ole hole in it like the contents fell out. Wonder if your bag is gone?
