I haven't had a chance to fish the Harris Chain myself but I recently heard that crappie are on the bed there. I would drown some minnows close to grass and pads. If you can find a thick spot with pad cover use a paddle to create a few openings.

You aren't being ignored. Hope this information helps.

A lot of boats just off the pier on 27 south of Leesburg, can't fish pads or cane because of hydrilla, or try pads at Lake Eustis end of dear river.--shu

Im no local expert, but I think most speck hunters are partial to lakes Dora, Baueclair, Carlton, and Griffin for specks.

Hope your luck improves and you catch a slab or two

Since the drawdown on Lake Griffin('80s??) Lake Harris has been good for me, until hospital visits kept me off the lake, now can't seem to do much and the fish seem to be larger on Griffin. May have to do a night trip under the Howey bridge.--shu

    Default bridge

I marked fish under the Howey bridge today and yesterday caught one short fish yesterday. The wind was kinda rough so I gave up there. Caught my only keeper in pads. Grass only gave small warmouth and one small bass. Thanks for the replys may try Dora or Griffin next.
