I heard from my father in law that the boats fishing right out from the River on the north side were still boating up limits of specs in a good days fishing. Big ones. I think they are just sitting in water 6 to 8 foot, minnows down about 4 feet, off from grass. Some are fishing the river (canal) as well. One or two of the fellas go dipping kissimmee grass in the morning and evenings with minnow tipped jigs 3 foot down in 4 foot of water.
Not much of a report for the south side, but its all I got. I'd find a canal type deal with similar depths and put out some minnows OR you can go to the north side of the lake....

We went to Clewiston last Monday the 13th expecting to be there three days. Fished from daylight till about four and had eight fish, one spec, two shell crackers and five bluegills, all very good size. Conditions were perfect but the fish were not there, at least where we were. The water was crystal clear in many places and there were no fish to be seen. We fished the dynamite holes, football field, and went out into the lake. I usually catch plenty of fish there but this trip was a bust. We ended up cancelling our reservations and headed back north. On the way out we asked a guide at Roland Martin’s about the spec fishing and all he would say is that the moon wasn’t right. On the positive side, the bass fishermen were doing some catching, and the Kissimmee River was packed with boats as we headed back north. I’ll probably head back just before the full moon. Good luck.
