Default Are there any crappie in the Orlando area?

I'm looking for information on crappie fishing in the Orlando area (Lake Mary area to be exact). I'm headed down there for several days in late April and I am interested in hiring a guide to fish with on the days I'm not working. I'm flying in so won't have my boat with me. After searching the web, I've come up empty handed with information about guides in the area. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Jim Porter's Guide to Bass Fishing I have never used this guide but have bass fished the stickmarsh, did ok nothing great, did catch a big speck on a 3/8 oz spinner bait, I am ready to go back and try for some big specks and bream on ultralites. Check out the entire site and see if this helps.

There's a guy that guides on lake monroe and the river every day...don't know his name but I've talked to him over the last few weeks. I'll find out and post back up. I probably won't fish again until late this week maybe even saturday but the next time I see him, I'll find out. He knows what he's doing.

Call Bob Stonewater in the Deland area. He's been guiding the area for over 20 years and if he doesn't do it, I can't think of anyone who would know who would better than he. His last known address was on Glenwood road, I left in '05 or I would have an up to date address.

Thanks for the replies. I'll start checking these folks out. I know I'm going to have 2 days with nothing to do and I sure would like to be catching some crappie. Publichunter, I appreciate your going to that length. I'll watch the boards for more info.

If you are thinking guide, why not give yourself a real treat and book a guide for a day of sightfishin the Mosquito Lagoon. It is only about 45 minutes from Lake Mary.

Shoot me a pm when you firm up your plans. I'll take you fishing anywhere you want to go.... Monroe, the river, harris chain. I'm usually busting gills shell crackers around late april.
