Thieves on Kissimmee

friend of mine who lives at the south end of Lake Kissimmee was telling me that thieves have been pretty regular for the past few weeks, have been hitting boats at night and stealing batteries,trolling motors and even cutting electrical wire and taking that too.
Thinks they are coming by boat at night useing the trolling motor for being quiet

I like to fish at night and after this post me thinks " I like to hunt at night too "

that could be very dangerous for the "wood-be thieves" - if caught in act they may not
make it to the local police department

they are in the process of doing something at a certain location to try and catch them, but I dont want to say what that is for obvious reasons.
Yes that area is sparse and it always has been a sporatic problem. I remember one time they came in and took a whole bass boat out into the river and took off a 150hp motor and left the boat driting.The boat wasnt near any landing,boat ramp or anything.
It was obvious they did it in river which said there was more than one person involved and had to know what they were doing for a 150 size motor ! Lucky the boat was found and didnt it make it to the locks.
They have even stolen whole airboats, in the past.
They have been know to start at the south end and sometimes move to the north end, but not always

I have a friend that is a member of the Angler's Club here in New Smyrna, they been having same problem.
The camera's on the docks caught the guy with very good pictures.
One of the members was there the other day checking on his boat & this guy approached him asking
for money & said he was homeless - the 72 yr old member recognized him from the video & took the guy down.
The police came & arrested him, he is a known criminal theif, should have filled him full of lead & left him for shark food.
Ain't got no use for a theif, work hard for my stuff & ain't nobody handing it out & ain't looking for one.

install alarm system on boat...not hard to do, screams its brains out within 10 seconds
of stepping on boat with unless you deact it with key

Go to Harbor Freight, they have an alarm that will transmit 400', silent, to a small box that alerts you to someone in your boat. Normally $19.95, but sometimes they put on special at$12.99. I have two of them and use them when traveling. When it goes off, me and my 15 buddies investigate. I also have a concealed weapon permit that is recognized in most states I travel. I work to hard to be able to buy my toys and I have a strong feeling about theives. The ACUL has strong feelings about their rights and not mine. To me my buddies put me on an even playing field with them.
