    Default Crappie World magazine

Excellant article in Crappie World magazine, summer issue, under
Where to find Big Slabs Now. John Hill & son Jj are mentioned and
contributed greatly to this article on how to "chain" boat control when
fishin for spec's with windy conditions.... this method is used quite a
lot on Crappie Tournament Trail by all pros. John & Son belong to
Florida Crappie Club and when not fishing tournament trail will be at
most if not all FCC tournaments...........Always avail for question &
answers. Also featured in article via pictues is Tim Eberly shown spider
riggin & handling chain. Another longtime member of FCC........
Get to meet and know these men they can be a real help to your fishing skills..
Glad to see the national magazines are reconsigning how good fishermen are from state of Florida....

Maybe you could get these pros to join CDC and share ideas with us and report catches etc. It's just my opinion, the magazine has some great pictures and every once in a while some useful information.......... but hardly ever about Florida fishing. I learn more from the CDC Florida than I ever have from reading the magazines. Just reading posts by SYG, DSH, Pontiac, Slabkeeper, STU, Huntin Slabs, Chunky, just to name a few has helped me considerably. No offense to the pros, but they're competing, most CDC folks are in it for the fishing fun. Besides, if it's windy enough for chains......I'm staying home and bugging momma or watching Marshall Dillon.

    Again.... just my thoughts,
    Mike

yep i agree with you Mr. Mike. I owe alot to CDC. I would also like to know why more members of the FCC dont get on here? Are us regular joes not worthy? I guarantee all of em get on here and read the posts just dont participate in the conversation. Im dont tournament fish but its not because i dont think im good enough, the tourns are just too far away, and me only being 25 in the military with a 1yr old i dont have the money to travel like alot of guys. Get some more tourneys up here man! lol. Oh yeah on a sidenote i went mullet fishing for the first time today, caught about 35 nice ones, got the hickory wood smokin and gettin ready to throw em on

They were fishing the waters in Alabama & Mississippi on tournament trail.........
White Crappie do not survive in Florida due to heat............Only Blacks down here.

John Hill in the Article fished a two day tournament came in with over 30 lbs of crappie
and finished 7th.............he had in his catch 3.2 lb & 3.7 lb. of which he brought home
to have mounted. 38 lbs plus won the tournament...

UGGHH!!! I can't get close enough to a smoked mullet to smell em much less eat em. I know people like em and hats off to em. But not on my smoker. Don't even like using em for bait when I have to. Actually I like using em for bait just can't stand the smell of em.

Well several will be tournament fishing Lake Griffin, off Herlong Park Ramp, this weekend, thats not all that far
from you huntinslabs. Go to the weigh in, introduce yourself and/or ask a few questions
of the competetors when its over.Darryl Cole is President, he will be in charge of weigh in and
pay outs. Each individual team will be anounced, weight of fish and their big fish.
Walk past their rigs, look at how they have them set up. These people, Men & Women
are avail for you, and their common goal is Crappie fishing.
Poles come out of water at 2:30 PM, weigh in should start around 2:45 - 3:30pm
depending on how they come back to ramp and load up...............

If can't come to that one, July 9th, tournament will be on Lakes Dora/Bau Clair/Carlton
entry & weigh in will be at Gilbert Park Ramp, and i will be there.
