Default Minn Kota Edge, Motor Guide Freshwater Edition

Anybody know how long the cable is from the foot control to the head unit of these motors? I have checked the websites and do not see that listed.

Are you thinking about purchasing a new trolling motor? if you are i STRONGLY recommend spendin the little extra money and gettin one with autopilot or the new I pilot. If you fish by yourself you can have rods outta the front, back, sides or wherever and not have to worry about keepin your foot on the dern pedal, its nice sittin back and letting the boat keep itself on track on its own

I had a motorguide freshwater edition on my boat when i first got it. I bought it the same day as the boat, fished with it twice and took it right back. The pedal is so sensitive that it aint even funny. On Minn Kota tm there is a screw on the bottom that you can adjust the tension for the pedal but not on the motorguide. All you have to do it tap it with your foot and it spins outta control, it was brutal fishing with it, and if you longline......forget about it. If you hook a fish and take your foot off the pedal for 2 secs your boat is spinnin in circles. This was a new motor that i had so the older ones may not be as bad, just givin ya a little info from my experience with em

My cable for my foot pedal on my older greatwhite motorguide (which looks identical to freshwater edition other than being white and using stainless parts) is about 3 ft. I don't know how long the cables on the foot contol are simply because SYG is right the foot pedal SUCKS, the foot pedal is packed away somewhere collecting dust and roach turds. I bought the remote control kit for it and love it and my trolling motor for the last 5 or 6 years now.
I aint here to tell you anything. You want to know what Im doing....pm me and meet me on the lake.

Thanks pontiac that had it. SYG if I only spec fished I would get the auto pilot type but the reaction is to slow from what I have heard for some of the fishing I do. That is good to know about the tension adjustment though.

spec hunter disreguard question, found answer - remote unit will only work with a
"wireless trolling motor" no kits avail to convert standard foot control to wireless and
    further inhance with remote unit.............
