Unhappy Tackle Box in Gainesville closing sale

The Tackle Box shop in front of Newnans lake in Gainesville is closing its doors after 57 years. We will miss all the folks there they were always helpful and friendly. Great sales for the next 10 days or so.

I really hate to hear that. I guess they just couldn't hang on any longer. I felt the same way when Mrs. Wigglesworth had to close her place down. Gotta be a tough way to try to make a living. I will miss them and wish them the best.

I thought the shad eradication program was done. Is it a yearly/seasonal thing?

there is always a FWC boat out there doing some sort of study and they come up and ask you if you would support a 10 fish limit and size requirements. when the problem with the lake is lack of water. the lake is about 3 foot lower then what it was 5 yrs ago. there is a 50 yard buffer of 1 foot water. and yes SYG they got signs up saying there is tagged specks out there.
I aint here to tell you anything. You want to know what Im doing....pm me and meet me on the lake.
