    Default St. Johns River

Wind was terrible. Could not find a decent place to fish where you could control the boat. Said when we started if I caught 1 fish over 2# it would make my day.
Got a 2.5 lb female. Beautiful fish.

Young gun, here's a few over 2# from this past fall from Virginia.

The fish in my left hand went 2.3lbs

    This one was 2.2lbs

In the spring with the roe in them they would have weighted a bit more. Not trying to steel anyone's thunder but you said you would like to see a photo of a 2#fish.

Ive gotton some over 2, just not 2.5, that half pound is a big diff. Alot of folks catch a 14" fish and dont weigh em and say " i got a 2 pounder" put that 14" fish on a scale and its prob 1.5 or less. I just wanted to see a pic of that big one you said you caught b/c i have caught several fish down here that were 15 1/2" or better and they barely broke the 2 pound mark. Im sure you weigh yours i just wanted to see a pic cause it must be a monster! heres some hogs, but they are barely 2.

Those are some nice fish there YG great looking color, you must have caught them in the spring of the year.I agree the fish has to be at least 15.5" to come close to the 2# mark. I'm not the one that caught that 2.5 pound fish. I was just responding to your request to see a 2# fish. Both of those fish were caught at the Kerr reservoir on the Virginia side and were right at 16". My biggest ever weighted 2lb9oz and was just a hair shy of 17.25" and full of roe. I don't even have a picture of it. Back 10 years ago when I caught that fish I was not a member of C.C and didn't take many pic's of the fish I caught. The day I caught that one I didn't have a camera and I didn't want to take any chances in hurting the fish. I weighted it and measured it and I released it to get to be a 3#fish. Ive always practiced catch and release on fish 13.50" and over. I love eating crappie but rather the 10"to 12" fish. Good fishing.
