    Default St John's River

I heard a rumor that the St John's river (near Lake Poinsett, Winder and Washington) is very very low...is this true? If so, what's everyone doing? Driving to Toho? P.S. I'm located at the Foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains in Tenn

I can tell you that all of the St Johns south of Lake Harney is low but still fishable. The only hiccups that I know of is getting into middle river from Lake Poinsett and getting into Harney from the river. There was only 6-8 inches near the mouths the last time I was there. No issues with Washington and I haven't been to Winder so can't help you there.

Isn't Maryville right there by Gatlinberg? Those mountains are probably the most beautiful place I've ever been.

Yep, Maryville is at the base of the Smokies...you should see the view I have in my back yard! I used to live in Melbourne/Rockledge and worked at KSC for years. I decided to sell the mansion and move to the hills here in TN about 5 years ago. I miss the FL winters, but that's about all. Oh yeah, and the big bass I used to catch at Lake Poinsett and the Sticks! Tight Lines~~~
