Closest you could look into:
Lake Manatee State Recreation Area - Bluegills and Redear's, no Crappie. 941-741-3028
Myakka River State Park - Crappie and Redear's. 941-361-6511
If you can drive north a bit Lake Panasofkee is good.
Out west you have Tenoroc and Winter Haven Lakes, Lake Wales area, and then Kissimmee.
I'm originally from Chicago area and fished Devil's Kitchen in So. Ill several times many moons ago.
