Well im moving around to try and get off the pier and kill it when I had to pick up another pole to get it out of the way. Well guess what, theres another darned snake on that one too. Well me and snakes arent too good of friends so it was a site im sure but I sure love my fishing poles more. I got my friend to come over and cut the lines and the fishing was over for the night. Just one other short story to tell before I go. We all went camping at Copper Breaks State Park the next weekend and didnt catch anything there but I guarantee there werent any chiggers left there when we left. They were all on us. lol. Missery then but great memories we will talk about for years now.
I have caught a snapping turtle while bass fishing. I thought I had one big bass until I could see the turtle :D
One day while carp fishing on the Erie canal I had a snag so I started reefing on the pole when it finall came loose. I had a cluster of zebra muscles
My sister caught a tiny bluegill about 30 years ago. While she was standing there with it about 5 feet from the bank admiring it in the water, a huge bass swooped in and swallowed it down. Almost pulled her in the water. She and my dad finally landed the thing and it weighed about 7 pounds.
I caught a catfish fingerling once and it had a snapping turtle attached to its tail.
Was fishin on the river as a boy before the COE dug the channel. Tightlining for catfish. Started to real in to move down a little and there was a tug. Set the hook and reeled, realized it wasn't a fish or anything lively and just kept reeling to see what I had hung. It was a 22 pistol with pearl grips and a 12 inch barrel made by colt. My mom still keeps it by the bed for protection purposes. It was one of those cylinder type that holds 7 rounds. Shoots real good, too!
It's one thing to to hook it, but it still being in good shooting condition is something else.Quote:

My same uncle hooked a seal in the rear end on day while we were fishing for Salmon in Puget Sound. Seals dont like it much when you hook-um in the rear.
I have caught a bream on a cukumber, a bass on a cheeto and a rod reel and catfish, all together. At Pony Pasture in the James.
I was fishing with my husband and brother, wading, and hooked something, told my husband to get a net, or something, kept reeling, came up with the rod and reel with a 6lb cat still fighting.
If you look carefully that IS a cheeto.:D
