    Default Ever caught an owl?

A buddy and I were fishing on Old Hickory Lake in Tennesse one day when we noticed this owl flying throught the trees. We watched him fly and land in a tree before we started moving down the bank. We were fishing with topwater jerk baits for bass and my buddy had gotten a wind loop in his line and was trailing his lure behind the boat when suddenly that owl swooped down and grabbed his chartreuse/tiger striped bait and started to fly off with it. He pulled the loop out of the line before my buddy realized what was happening. He jerked the line and the owl fell into the water. He flew up and was pulled down a couple of more times. Even though my buddy was facing away from me, it was almost like his head was transparent and I just knew he had this dumbfounded look on his face as he tried to figure out what to do. I told him real quick that there was no way in heck that owl was coming anywhere near the boat. It was not about to rip us to shreds but we didn't want the owl to have those three sets of treble hooks stuck in him either. After several minutes of deliberation, we decided we were going to have to break the line and hopefully everything would work out. We let the owl start flying again and he immediately landed in a tree. While we were sitting there talking, the lure just fell out of his talons. After all that, the three sets of treble hooks never even stuck in him. We laughed about that for a while and my buddy saying no one would ever believe this story.

it's probably good it happened like that. you are not allowed to even touch an owl or hawk. a duck hunter got to his landing one morning and came back with some ducks and found an owl embedded in his grill of his truck. he took the owl and put it with the ducks and took a picture of it and eventually it wound up on the internet. someone notified the feds and they came knocking on his door. searhed his place and things went from bad to worse and he wound up paying a big fine.

Never caught 1 but 1 caught me 2 times before daylite 1 morning,I got into my tree stand about 1 hr before daylite to deer hunt & went ahead & pulled on my face mask & hat.About 15 minutes latter something crashed into me & barley missed my eyes cutting some scratches less than 1/2" from both.I screamed like a like a kid in a haunted house lol,15-20 minutes after that I caught a glimps of something in the star lite & ducked & ended up with 5 punctures in the top of my bald head, coarse more screaming & didnt see a thing all day.I seen the culprit about 10:00 when a redtail hawk flew over screeching & a owl 30y away in a tree top took off, glad I didnt see it before as I might have done something illegal lol
