I am new here and new to boating and fishing. But I do have a funny story,
I was at a local ramp that has a small cove then goes right into the main channel. I was in my little 14' Jon boat with trolling motor only. I was just fishing the little pocket I was in. I was about 100 yards from the dock. I hear what sounded like a train coming in, I look up to see a huge new Ranger coming in wide open. He shut it down what seemed like only feet from the dock. The waves tossed me around pretty good. I did not say anything " Agin I am New". I was a single " Large " guy pull it to the dock and I turn around and keep fishing. I then hear a loud laugh. I look around and see his boat is away from the dock a a few feet. I do not think much of it. Maybe he had a long rope. Then I hear the man say " Sir, Sir " I turn to him and he ask if I could help him get his boat. I troll over to him and he gets in my boat. At this point his boat is 40-50 feet from the dock " Because of his wake ". On the way to his boat he starts bragging about it. Tell me it will go 80MPH and he gave 50K for it a few weeks ago. I then just smilled and said " You would think for 50 K they would give you a rope to tie it with. I drop him off and continue to fish.

That's funny rite there, I don't care who you are!!
But.....I have to admit to "stupid human tricks" happening to me a couple of times too. Me and my buddy used to launch my boat together all the time. One of us would be in the boat, the other would back the trailer in til the boat floated off and then we'd pull out and go park. Well, one morning, I was in the truck, my buddy went into the bait shop and I prepped the boat unhooking the straps and tie downs. I then proceeded to jump in the truck pull over to the ramp and back the boat in til it floated off the trailer. As I watched the boat float off the trailer, my buddy tapped on the window and gave me a "WTF" look. DUH!!
Luckily for us, another boater was pulling in to the ramp and gave my buddy a ride out to the boat. That will humble you. At least it did me.
I guess you didn't want to fish with your buddy that day.
