My uncle and I were fishing for Crappie on Sayer's Lake when I was in my early 20's and we were both still single and kidless...so we fished alot. So here we are, fishing in our little John Boat, warm evening about an hour before dark...caught a few here and there, but things were pretty calm...and we were about 300 yds from the shore line....when all of a sudden, out of no where, about 12 yds from the boat, up pops the head of a White tail Deer! A doe, who apparently swam from the other side of the lake underwater! She pops up, swims about 8 feet from the boat, right thru where we were fishing, over to the water's edge, pops up on the bank, shakes off the water, looks at us and then mosey's on into the woods.

My uncle and I just stared at each other...and then he says "glad we didn't catch her, she's not in season anyhow".
