Default Questioning my 1197 settings; Screen shots here to see

I am still trying to learn this Humminbird 1197 and am pretty sure I know what I am looking at, but would love a little more confidence. SO tell me what you see on these. The first two are the same spot just one after the other one and a little more bottom.

If I remember where this is it drops off to about 42' near by.

Skip in these 2 picts first all forget about seeing alittle prop wash yes u are but its nothing, first off if your speed is as stated 2.5 or so then your scroll speed is set wrong, it is stretching the picts alittle, scroll speed should match boat speed most all other setting as mentioned by others is right on. my boat & scroll speed 2.5 to 4.5 is best setting I find. In 2 picts in dark center u see white tops of trees, see the long black shadow from trees, longer the shadow the taller the tree. Yes looks like some balls of bait fish an then some larger fish nearby. On bottom of 1st pict both left & right it looks like u have either started across a ditch or a sharp drop off can't tell from what little I see.
I don't suffer from insanity; I enjoy every minute of it.....

Thanks Jack and yes a sharp drop into a creek just and is the inside bend of a 90 degree turn. It is kind of like an island of water that is about 21' or so and the creek goes all the way around it I think because at some point it cut the new path straight across and that is a little bit away to the right. The left and ahead it drops off into the creek.

The other one also has a pretty big drop, but it's is from like 31' or 32' dropping to about 44' at one point. It may be a little early for that deeper place, but the other spot should be working well, but it's slow and maybe just the fishing lately.
