    Default Blown fuse links

have a question dealing with fuseable links that you hook up for the battery in both the neg and pos side. Is there a standard amperage for the link that you would hook up in line. I had an electric motor with bad wiring blow both of my links, melted them so badly that I couldnt get any information off them. Now I need to replace them but not sure what the fuse amp should be.

I originally was using a power plus T34 TM and had no problems. I switched too a motor guide 54lb thrust and 10 minutes in running full power both links literally melted.

I believe the wiring problem was in the wiring a previous owner did to the motor guide to extend the length of the power cord. He added some additional wire onto the red and black coming out of the motor, but connected it into 4 strand wire for some crazy reason. I cut that out hooked up direct to the battery and had no problems at all after that.

Now I just need to fix the links so my lights and live well work again but I dont know what size fuse link I should put in. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

should be running off a fuse block with a different fuse for each

the troll motor needs a 40 amp breaker.
