I put mine on the boat Friday night and went and drove around a small lake near my house. The difference is beyond words to me. I took the same couple routes that I did with the old transducer, and what I saw this time was totally different. The detail is, well it makes it look like there was no detail with the original ducer. I have a couple pics that I'll put on later. It's better then I could have imagined, put it that way.
I blew up a shot that I took on the lake today. When I saw this and was going over it, my first thought was it was a body. But then I figured it was just a funny looking stick up.
The one I received is the one with the nickle sheild. Before buying one contact HB to see if they will hook you up with a free interference kit. They hooked me up good.
How new is the newest transducer. The model # you provided is what came with my 997 last fall.
That's the good transducer. What came with most of the 797's as far as I know was a compact transducer that didn't do a very good job.
I bought my 797 last spring, it came with a rather large puck. I hope this is the better transducer.
