    Default Eagle FishMark 480 problem

My Eagle worked fine for the first 6 monthes I had it, and now it is periodically working. When it doesn't work the depth reading starts blinking on and off and the screen looks like its full of clutter. Does anyone know what the blinking depth reading means, didn't see anything in the troubleshooting part of the manual. Thanks

This can be caused by a few things. Most common two are that you have mud on your transducer (trolling motor mounted transducer hits bottom) or your transducer has been knocked out of horizontal from either water pressure (being up on plain & transducer mounted in wrong spot) or from hitting something with it.

Check to make sure that you have not cracked your transducer also. I did mine, and it behaved the same way.

Another possibility is that you are running a 2nd depth finder which is interfering with your 480's echo returns. Hope this helps & you figure out your problem.

Big bites, full baskets, & God's blessings to ya!
