Default Poll: TM's: Foot Operated or Hand Operated

I'm in the process of ordering a new boat (Bass Tracker Pro Crappie) and there isn't a lot of room to install a sunken well for the foot pedal.

I'm interested in all y'all's opinions and what you use. I value your opinions a lot more than I do in some of the bigger bass fishing sites. I've never used a hand operated TM before but have owned every kind of foot control TM. Laying the pedal flat on the floor is a big 'No Go' for my back.

    Thanks.

I love my foot control TM but I use a hand control mounted beside my seat. It gets the pedal out of my way on the floor and I can adjust the speed more precisely than with the foot pedal. Here is what I use: http://www.crappie.com/crappie/fishi...te-update.html

I use a MG DS82 on my PC 175. The foot pedal works great. I also have a wireless hand control so I can sit in the back and longline troll and operate the motor up front.

I also have a PD and I put the foot control in my lap sometimes, gotta love that long cable, so I thought. Added a co-pilot to it last fall, now I don't have to drag that cable all over the boat.

I have a foot control and love it. I have both hands free to fish.
