Default My Minn Kota autopilot is chirping after repair

I had the autopilot housing replaced and I assume they replaced the whole housing with new motor, etc. Used it for the first time this weekend and it now emits an electronic chirp about every second while the trolling motor is turning the prop. Unit seems to work OK otherwise but this new chirp noise makes me worried a replaced circuit board may bad, or failing.

MAKE SURE YOUR FOOT CONTROL IS NOT ON CONTENTIOUS POSITION. Reset copilot. Little recessed button on mounting plastic.

I'll try that but I'm not talking about the chirp you are supposed to get when pressing a copilot button. I think of that as a "beep" - this chirp is something else.

On my Terrova, this is an optional setting - it toggles between
chirping while motor is on, to chirp once when a button is pushed,
to no chirp... I can change mine by mashing the - and + buttons on
the copilot at the same time and hold till it chirps.

Sometimes mine gets like that by accident, drives me crazy till I remember
    how to fix it

I checked and it is coming from the copilot. I will try that - and + button thing. I pushed the copilot button on the side and it didn't resolve the problem.

You have the remote with you when u push reset? This synchronizes the 2 units.

Unplug the copilot and plug back in. Pete said he had to this on his Terrova to get it to stop chirping.

    What unit u have?

Sounds like your audio mode is set to 3. Change it to mode 2 which is suppose to be default. To change it, press and hold both the increase and decrease buttons. The receiver will respond with 1, 2 or 3 audible beeps indicating which mode it is in.

We went thru this with mine last year Bill. I can't remember all I did to get it going.

It is just like Bill says. Haven't done it yet but found it in my instruction manual last night. CRISIS AVERTED!
