Jax, we quit whining and he left us. Guess we need to get on the box again.

HB done picked a couple Million in sales off us crappy guys. This is a conservative number considering the cost per unit.

Anyone heard of anything on the Slow refresh problem? Jeeeezus.

Cost per unit? I have always wondered what that might be...just guessing I'd say on a high end unit its in the neighborhood of $50.00 to $100.00. This is pure speculation on my part.....

My guess is HB couldn’t spread the tainted peanut butter thick enough to cover up the truth, too many sharp guys like Mr Cane on this site-- so they packed up & just lurk ?? --for awhile,-- just like on side site keeping quiet about their SLOW GPS cause they don’t & won’t have a answer. I would guess their only fix will be to redo units like 957 &1157 call them chartplotters & companions to 997 &1197. This way they can try to sell us another unit. $$$$$$$$$ plus it will give them room on the one legged (Hard?) Drive to bring the old studebaker GPS up to date. Just my opinion---worth about 3 dead minnows………. I have given up waiting on HB, use 997 as a side unit ONLY, & am pricing lowrance & others, so much for having a linked system, prefer units that WORK.:rolleyes:

Has anyone tried the 50 channel reciever to see if it's an improvement? I just recieved one with my 788C. I guess I'll put it on and and try it. One thing I've never looked into, is can you change that stupid pointer boat icon to something else?

Slow updates aside, I am happy with the 797, and went ahead and bought the interlink (canepole probably could have designed something that would work better) so I hope I didn't waste my money. Is the problem with all HB units, or just the ones with SI?

I don't know for sure, but they gotta recoup the engineering expenses. They still engineering or should be. It don't work 100 %. The patent is the legal ticket to steal. A patent is the legal right to monopolize, which we have to pay and contend with. Patents cost big lawyer money. I don't foresee any price reductions. Milk and bilk sales tactics when you are "the one".

Copyrights worse. 75 years protection after the death of holder. What a crock.

Of course, the Chinese could give a crap.....
