I believe you can share GPS info from unit to unit. I know if you have a newer boat/motor you can hook it up also to show RPM, voltage and engine codes/alarms also on certain units.

Have any of you got two or more Lowrance units linked together
with the ethernet cable thingamajig? I know squat about it, but
am interested in what all info can be shared between two units,
and what can't. Main question, if you have say, one of the units with
built in hard drive and have their detailed lake maps on it, will it show up
on another unit networked to it?
I'm about fed up with the gps I have, stay tuned - I may have some stuff
for sale![]()

I recently purchased a Lowrance LCX 37C for the front of the boat with the transducer on the trolling motor. I have since decided that I want another one for the console with a transducer on the transom.
I called Lowrance with several networking questions.
- What are they sharing exactly
I was told that they will share the gps antenea. Therefore, since I already have a LCX with a gps antenea, I can purchase a display unit and transducer for the transom. Which is about $200 bucks cheaper than a complete system. However, one would still need to buy the cables. And yes it could show the engine data on both units if installed.- Will they share waypoints
Yes however, one must initially take the waypoints from one unit and load them on the second. Take me for example, I already have about 500 points on my current unit. I would need to load these on an MMS card and upload them to my new unit. From this point on, a waypoint saved on one unit will show up on both units- If I have a Navionics card will it show on both units
No, one must take the card and place it in the unit desired. They will not share the map card.
To answer your specific qustion, no I don't think if one unit has the detailed map data and the other one does not, I don't think it will show up on both units, seeing how it won't show up with my Navionics card. But that may be a better question for Lowrance.
However, Lowrance just came out last week with new High Definition units that have very detailed Hi Def maps on them. Check the out at Lowrance.com.
Thanks guysYep, I heard they had some new goodies on the way -
look forward to the next years catalogs.

Anybody know how much those HD units are gonna run?

Here a Lowrance link for new HDS units.

It's not the numbers or the size, it's the time spent on the water!
I have a LCX-113HD connected to a LCX-38 with a LGC2000 GPS antenae on my boat, also have the broadband sounder and the network hub thing. With this set up, I can view the sona display from the transducer on the stern with both units, does not work both ways though, the stern transducer goes into the broadband box which then goes to the network hub.
Cannot view maps, say navionics or lakemaster on both units, but it will share gps data, just on a less detailed map if u only got one chip.
Can make a waypoint and share with both units also.
