I am new to the forum and have been reading alot to posts but I have'nt found anything specific to this unit. If you own one or have opinions please let me know what you think about this unit. Thanks
I have one and love it.
I run 2 of these units on my boat. Really like them. Updated from the 332c units when they come out
Have one on the back really good unit love the gps cant go wrong with it.
HERE FISHY FISHY
I have one too and love it. The problems people were having is it would turn on and have a melt down. I don't leave my unit plugged in for that reason. Doesn't take a minute to hook it up unless you leave it at the house which I have been know to do JUST ONCE. hehehe Ferdi
I Have One I Have Problems With Loosing Sonar Above 1.5mph.
Did y'all install the mandatory network power-off switch on the NMEA 2000 power cable? Is it really nessasary? Does the 20 degree transducer really give 60 degrees of coverage? It says it does with high sensitivity settings, not sure what that means. Will it give as much bottom coverage as a Humminbird dual beam transducer? Thanks

The switch is needed because it will run your battery down between trips. The GPS has no power switch. Contrary to what most think, the puck is not just an antenna, it's the receiver for the GPS. I just run mine from the master power line on the boat, and everything goes off when I hit the master switch.
The cone coverage is not a simple concept. The return to the transducer doesn't stop outside the 20 degree range. 20 degrees is the range over which the signal strength is within 50% of the power at the center of the beam. At 21 degrees, you still have almost as much power as you do at 20, it just drops off as you go out from there. In most situations, the 50% point has more power than you need, so there is still plenty of signal available for the sonar to operate outside the cone angle that is specified. Deeper targets will be harder to see as you come off center, and turning the sensitivity up to see that wide of an area will probably make your unit susceptible to interference.
I have one and have had nothing but good to say about it. Wish I could say the same about my 997 si !!!!!!!
