Default anyone with knowledge on a HB 300tx...

the product manual on thier website talks bout a optional wide scan transducer that as explained on pg 27of28 would show some type of side image'n...
am I understanding this rite or can someone explain why it would not turn a 300tx into a side image'n unit (a low grade unit of coarse but still a side image'n unit)...

If I remember correctly, they had a tri beam transducer which would mark fish out to the side of the boat, but that's about it. I don't think it showed any bottom detail. I know I had a 400 unit with that transducer and can't say it was very useful.

shellback,, thanks fer that info,, like I said it wood be a very crude side image'n,, just the way they made it sound on pg 27 sounds like it would locate fish,, I've been told that I wood prolly need a switch type unit to go between the 2 xducers one fer a bottom view and the side scan wood give me the depth and the sides but woodnt show me the detail of the bottom at the same time,,, I was e-mail'd witha guy that doesnt post on forums but just looks and he said that I cood pick which side I want'd ta watch or that I cood watch both at the same time,, kinda like a split screen view,, & I'm think'n thats what HB was show'n....
Thanks fer yer input,, it just made my decision ta buy it a lil easier....
