Default Power Chords for HB Users

Talked to a customer rep. yesterday and asked why HB doesn't have a regular power chord for thier units that can simply be plugged into the wall so that units can be used in the house for updates, working with waypoints or working through tutorials.

She said that the FCC regulates power chords and that the reason the power chord situation is like it is.

I didn't understand this because my Garmin 178C has a regular power chord that hooks from the wall to PC and I don't see any big differences in the two.

    Oh well, I tried.

Actually, I seem to remember someone posting a link for a source for exactly what you're talking about. Pretty cheap too. I'll see if I can find it for you.

    Found it.

What the HB rep told you has got to be bogus. How do they power the units on display in the stores if you can't get an AC adapter for it?

I bought a power unit for mine on EBAY. Works fine. Didn't cost much.

Mine was strictly the power unit.

I guess that would be okay just use the sd card to transfer stuff back and forth.

I have one like in the link above. Works fine. But know that it is not what you see in the pic. You get only the wall plug and cord, not the depth finder stand that is in the pic. It is just the power cord.

Be on the safe side & place a inline 3 amp fuse before unit.

    Thumbs up I've got 2

I posted an ebay link on here a month of so ago. I found them by accident. They work great. They are the same thing that stores like GM, BPS, Cabela's all use for their demo units.

I bought 2 for me abd 4 of my buddies have bought them also.

You can get them "Buy It Now" for like $9.99 + $5.75 Shipp'n. Ive saved that much on batteries since I got mine.
