997 GPS loosing lock???

I used my new 797 on Tuesday for the first time and had the same problem that others have talked about with the GPS side of Hummingbird. I had all my waypoints loaded on the 797 and it would either be way off or would reception all together.
Thankfully I read on this forum not to trust the Hummingbird GPS and had my Garmin 378 that I have used for three years and has never stirred me the wrong way.

Yes it its a shame HB puts a nice side imaging unit with a piece of 2nd hand GPS Garbage. It seems like they don't care either as they are being so-so quiet about all our requests(so much for customer service) gives us the image they are just hoping the subject will go away, canceled all my ideas of purchasing any more HB products &/or Johnson outdoors products.

After reading all the comments on this forum about the GPS side of the Hummingbird I was going to cancel my order for the 797. Well I didn't and after using it for the first time last Tuesday I wasn't even impressed with the side imaging. I had a hard time seeing anything that I knew was there. Maybe it's just a learning curve but I'm really glad I had my Garmin to find my spots.

Musta been some alien in Miss. No problem this past weekend with lock. It just still off 25-50 feet..........and still has slow response.
