    Pete,

It don't know how much it will be but I can bet that it will be at least $100 bucks.

Nope. It want fix the Slow response. It will be more accurate. Prob more position accurate than Garmin or Lowrance, but accuracy ain't the problem. Screen refresh at low speeds is the problem..

200 bucks for the "antenna" ie Gps receiver is the price tag for this doobie. It is a 50 channel receiver. From what I have read, it is a good receiver. Most accurate receiver in the world won't do any good if the screen isn't refreshed when it gets the data (every second). MOAO

$200 to get the unit operating correctly? That just don't seem right! I guess that is why they put the recommendation to not use this unit as a sole source of navigation. Maybe I am a victim of my own beliefs. Never buy the first model of anything. Never works correctly and the companies always neglect those customers who do.

Oh, by the way, the priority list probably will not include looking in the past. They are prioritizing ways to get the next phase of customers to buy into the greatest technology since the side imaging idea.

Tom after thinking about it. I bet this one would make it even slower...
My screen updates good. But not as fast as the GArmin does. I also have trouble getting on stuff. AS you turn the boat, And the GPS does not move as fast. But I just adjust for it. And its always been ok..
But the way I look at it. The GPS is just extra. Shoot the SI is what I was after. And the GPS does its job of marking stuff on the side scans.. Guess I just enjoy my stuff. And not killing the few brain cells I have over the small stuff.

Jeepster. My 987c-SI is the first model. And its worked perfect. Now I did know that they would come out with a better unit. But I am still using the old unit. And for me the 997 or even the 1197 is not good enough for me to trade up yet.
