We just did the same test you did with my friends H2O. We went to WM and rode 5 miles or so after marking our way point. The H2O brought us back within 4 feet. Not sure what the deal is but you sound happy and you won't have to buy any new attachments. The main reason we did it was because I am considering the H2O.

OLDWUN, what was the epe showing on the unit? In my yard 44 foot was the very best I could do. After I had marked home and walked around in the yard the mark was off by about 30 foot. I tried to see if the waas was disabled but couldn't find that setting. My preference was h20, larger easier screen to read. I wished I could have made it work.

EDDY your software is probably out of date. Lowrance has updates on their website. I have a regular Ifinder that had the same problem and would eat a set of batteries in about 3 hours the update fixed both problems and would take epe to under 10ft.
PM me if you need help.

Eddy Creek Bandit...I will have to ask Harold. I was along for the ride but he really didn't give me all the details. I do remember him saying something sometime ago about downloading some software. The H2O is what I am going to buy. I like the screen size. I just have to decide whether to go color or not.

If you slow troll the B/W will register at lower speeds than the color will. I don't think the color has an advantage versus B/W other than it costing more and looking purdy! m2c

I do slo troll so thanks for the information. It sounds like B&W is what I want. I have the Lowrance Hot Spots East coming any day. Got it on Ebay for $57 shipped. Should be here ant day now.

I have not had a problem with the H2Oc as far as accuracy. It usually gets me within
4-5' of marked areas. [B][COLOR="Teal"]What software version are you all running? Mine is version 1.1.0 --- Is that the latest update?

That's the latest version.

Thanks for all the responces guys. I did trade with Gander mountain for an etrex Legend. I had to make the decision 60 miles from home on Sunday. The other h20 units acted the same way as the one I had taken home. The best epe was 44 foot and after a few minutes it would start going back up on all the units that we tried. I'll bet they are some older models that need to be upgraded with new down loads. I did not see that on here until I had returned from the store. I do like the looks of the screen, and the ease of going from one screen to another. The etrex has a smaller screen and a little harder for an old man to read. I don't like the joy stick that well either, but does it ever put you back on the spots.
