    Default I got lucky !!!!

My boat is a 20 foot Shadow made up in Corbin Ky in 1990. It is a tunnel hull and it will carry the mail! I like it because 2 men can stand on one side and the boat stays put. The only thing I did not like was the old Evinrude Scout 12/24 trolling motor. Last week I bought a 74# Mk Maxxum from Yikees here on Crappie.com. Everyone said you better get some heavier wire like 6 gauge because they didn't use that in those days. Wll Shadow did and I am ready to go. My friend has a well known 17 footer made in 1999 and he had to change wire size.

Wire size is very often overlooked. I always use 6 ga. wire. You get alot more bang for your buck. An extension cord will make your motor alot less effective and loose alot of battery life. It is well worth the extra money to use a larger wire.

I met the man who did most of the Shadow designing a couple of years sgo. he now lives in Maryville TN. He told me they tried to use the best availible wire and to plan for the future. Maybe BS but I will go along with iot.

Use marine grade 6 gauge wire and be sure to install a 50 amp breaker at the batteries.
