Advantages Color vs B/W handheld GPS

I think I have setteled on the Lowrance H20 Gps due to the local advice I got from several owners. My question is what if any advantages are there with color vs b/w.

I can only speak for the color version, but mine is easy to read even on bright days, although I wish the screen was a bit larger. (eyes have that over 55 disease) I would think details on screen would show better than b&w, as well as for night fishing. Example would be trails and areas you have marked. Yellow trails and red marks.

I had a B&W and upgraded to color. I had a lot of problems seeing it in bright sunlight. I talked with Linda at Lowrance and she said they had a lot of complaints with it so I went back to the B&W one. Now this was a couple years ago so with all the complaints they should have this fixed as Downwind indicates.

One trick with a color is to turn on the back light. Makes it pretty dang readable even in direct sunlight. To me, a black and white is very confusing once you start running back over your trail that happens to intersect a depth line or in a cluster of other information. Even with the readability issue, the color is much superior especially with the tiny screen on the hand helds. At least it is to me.

I like color for a GPS but I asolutely prefer Monchrome (B&W) for LCD sonar.

I thought that the b/w units will read lower speeds than the color units. If this is not true let me know!
