    Default What about a 777c2?

My wife bought me a 777c2 for my birthday..I couldn't make up my mind between it and a Lowrance 510c so she did it for me...It is my first HB...I know it isn't an SI unit but does anyone have this unit and like it? I haven't had it out but twice and it seems easy enough to follow the menus..

    Any opinions?

PS: I'm sticking with my Garmin gps...

Too funny.....I just posted a similiar question...I believe Humminbird has the "fishing community" having 2nd thoughts about their products...Word of mouth has always been the best advertisement and who can advertise better than the people that use their products????

I have the 777 and I love it,easy to use only problem I ever had with it was blue lines when I used the terrova trolling motor. some guy fixed it for me and now no problems. I also have the 797 si and have no problems with it what so ever. not eaven the gps. I have a garmin etrex and they both get me on my spots and no complaints.... good luck and enjoy.

Why does Humminbird say they have accuracy problems and you can BUY a new antenna then? Also, what about the delay issue. Have you tried these things out?

    You must be the exception.

You should give her a big hug!
I have the 510c and in shallow weedy water its useless. I sent it in to Lowrance twice with one transducer change and 2 software changes no luck. Took if off my boat and bought a remanufactered Vexilar Edge2 to replace it.
I had an outstanding Lowrance X75 like a fool I upgraded to the X510c.
Lowrance is not the the company they were a few years ago.
I was looking at the 777c before I bought the X510c . Your wife did you a big favor.

You were smart when you bought the Vexilar. I just ordered me new Vexilar FL10. I like flashers.

The Vexilar Edge is not a flasher but after learning how flashers work from vexilars` videos on their site, my next sonar will be a flasher from Vexilar. I have heard that Vexilars service is second to none. That will be refreshing from my Lowrance experience. Based on Vexilars quality I may never need to find out.

I called Lowrance the other day. I was placed on hold by a machine. The machine told me it was their busy season and I would have a 20 minute wait. I was waiting an hour later. Their quarter. I waited it out. 2 hr 12 min.

That same machine told me it was their busy season back in late January. I think the machine is stuck in the busy season.

Funny how you can get thru to them real quick if you don't use the 800 number. Bunch of cheap butts.

Tom, will you add the FL10 to our training package in November? It probably won't take Frank & me long to absorb something as simple as a flasher..:D
