Second guessing Humminbird.

People tend to ignore these these questions. I suspect they have no answers.

Most of us have the same problem here with HB gps.

Thats why I still use a hand held garmin gps to get me on my spots.

Sounds like you guys paid an awful lot of money for a function that doesn't do it's job. Everybody should send them a letter and see if they respond to the group.
