Default Need wire for a progect??

I am in the need for a short piece of NiChrome wire. Need about a foot of NiChrome 21 gage. Can't find any locally and don't wanna buy a 50 foot roll.

    Thanks

Can you adjust the length to work with another wire diameter? Might have a source if I remember to check. I'll let you know.

Need something fairly small. I am going to make a dc hot knife ( I hope) for cutting braid line.

Trial and error seems to work better than calculations. Need resistance per foot if you can get it. This stuff getting hard to find.

    Thanks

Yep. I should be able to adjust length. I am gonna pulse the wire with 555 timer and fet arrangement. Smaller wire be easier to heat up quickly.

You got one of these? If so, which one and how you like it.

Windy here. Heat guns don't do good in wind.

Don't have any that small. Sorry. Did find several suggestions on the net that said to try the cheap stainless fishing leader material from Walmart as a substitute in cutting applications. Wouldn't cost much, and you could measure it's resistance to see how it would work.

I saw something like that in a Chicago area store years back. Have never bought one but was tempted. Would have used it to remove the paint from jig eyes, then I found a source for jigs without paint in the eye. I cut my braid with scissors no problem and frayed ends don't bother me. Maybe someone else on here has one?
