I run a 997 (love it) & to keep track of my track & some GPS spots I also run my old Lowrance 330 but of course if I were to plug in the transducer I get interference, so My Question to U is-- been told U can run two Humminbirg without such interference so what model bird unit would U suggest with two card slots,20 & 60 degree beams, GPS, is avail that I can run along side the 997, thus I can use it for tracking solely & sharing GPS spots so no changing screens all the time and maybe use as a Hi speed over 20mph depth finder. thanks sorry its so long.............. is there any rebuilts avail

Good question.

What we need is a universal sonar transducer with a splitter and ping sharing. With this we could use one transducer for 2 sonar heads of different manuf, like Lowrance and HB. The Minn Kota universal sonar is a start. But, a splitter with signal boost and ping sharing would be nice. These folks are capable of doing this, but it want happen. Be to easy on us. I can wish.

Well I don't think U did anything wrong, U just trying to help, maybe he will answer in a few days Anywho- went to a fish meeting, guest speaker was demo-ing a 1197 guys were all oohs & ahhs many could not believe their eyes as he showed picts & ran a short recording. Was impressive, answered questions on 997 also, He said Hummbird would have some new features for next year but could not comment on them except to say U all know generally speaking GPS is accurate to 3 meters but, with new GPS ant. coming next year, it should be accurate to ONE meter and yes to my question can I hook it up to my 997. Then he ended the show, kinda left me hanging about new ant. Gosh maybe we can ask Jody?

There are not enough "pings" from heaven to have that kinda accuracy. They kinda secretive about this info. I don't know if the pings from heaven rre synchronous or asynchronous (per satellite). We get 1 ping every second from heaven (11k miles up). I only have a general working knowledge of this stuff, and, since I retired, I ain't interested in learning too many intricate details. Hurts my brain. Maybe we gonna get the military ping.

They gonna blow smoke up our tailpipe about most of the facts anyhow.
