If the 585C is the color upgrade of the 565 why does the 585C have fewer pixels?

    585C 240H x 320V

    565 320H x 640V

Looks like you would see a lot more detail with the 565 or does color make up the difference...

That was the reason why I bought the 565 vs 585....more pixels.

I also bought the 777C2 for the same reason....more pixels.

    It makes a big difference.

The same reason that you'd pay more for a color tv than you would a black and white one. I have both color and greyscale fishfinder's. As soon as I can save up a lil more money the greyscale one is history. There's no comparison, color all the way!

Then why is black and white film more expensive than color film if this be the case?

Now your talking nostalgia. Same reason a Babe Ruth card would be worth more than a Barry Bonds one. Plus it takes alot of money to make old things look new again, perfect example would be Micheal Jackson.
