    Default 997si question

I messed the cable on my transducer. I want to buy a new transducer, but Humminbird said it will be a least 3 weeks before I can get one. I have searched around a little and the picture associated with the XHS-9-HDSI-180-T shows a much smaller transducer than the original one I was sent. I called Humminbird and they said they have a new compact 'ducer, but it will only have the 455khz not the 800khz capability (hd). Are the photos wrong for the electronics dealers, or are they selling the the 455khz transducer as the 455/800 one? I just want to buy one and get it expedited here ASAP. Any suggestions or answers that would help would be appreciated.

Good move on Humbird part. Get the new smaller one; why, Ist of all most owners will only use the 800khz bout 2 to 4% of the time if THAT. Unless U have extremely hard(concrete) bottom or shear cliffs the 800 will not work right (very dark picts) cause the 800 sonar is easily absorbs, so very few use it and its not that much if any better for general use. So all u need is the 455 & smaller ducer will be easier to mount, less problem with air/water across ducer, probably no more Rooster tail with smaller size ducer. Would HOPE it will be a few bucks less also????Of course no more(less) rooster tail will probably make some folks Unhappy-:D:D

Thanks, guess I'll look for the smaller one, unless someone talks me out of it. Now I need to find a dealer that can get me one by Wed.

Anyone know of a reputable electronics dealer that could possibly expedite a new transducer? Just don't want to spend the money and then not recieve it as fast as I want it.
