    Default Fugawi and Humminbird SI

I'm in the process of creating a tutorial on my website with lots of graphics on how to use Fugawi. It's a work in progress but any one interested is welcome to look in on it.

    Fugawi Tutorial

I'm going to also be working on a tutorial for the Humminbird side scan.

WOW, thank you what a great help to us all (including old Decrepit brain dead folks like me). I had been struggling to get started doing something like this(own a 997si) but didn't know where to start. May I suggest(?) a quick note to your forward as to what we will be able to do(mark our maps? etc) and second or first what kind of maps do we start with, type brand?) example I can't load a nav brand to a disk? Just a suggestion please no criticism meant.

No problem. I may have added some imagery since you were there just now. I'm going to go into the use and editing of way points, tracks and trails after a bit. Also importing and exporting them from Lowrance and Humminbird units. There are a bunch of interesting things that Fugawi can do that I've been playing with. You can even set the waypoints up to play sounds or pop up certain pictures when you get so close. Great way to remind yourself of maybe which side of an island you wanted to go or a sound to get you to do some thing. Most of this is more important if your using a laptop in the boat but I imagine it could be fun way to remember a camping trip too.
Most of what I'm going to start with is for the guys using my maps to help them later if they forget how I tell them to do some thing.
But all comments wil be accepted.

Have you looked at the newest collaboration software from Fugawi and Navionics. Looks like it is hard to beat the price on this one. $19.99.

If you look close you only get 1 High Definition map and they can't be used with a GPS hooked to your computer. Too bad. I think these are kind of like those NVB packages for Humminbirds. I'm not sure if it only runs on the Fugawi ENC version or not.

I understand that you view map at home and load waypoints and tracks to your gps. But, can you save waypoints on the lake with gps and come home to puter and upload these new waypoints to your map? Like Oziexplorer.

What are you able to do with your SI recordings and Fugawi? I'd sure be interested to know if there's some useful info.

I wish HUMMIe would make an emulator for the SI units. That way I could play with it while I am at work. Just food for thought.

I collected way points all the time last summer with the side scan and brought them into Fugawi. Then I edited them for names and such. And since I use my laptop in the boat I have Fugawi set up to pop up the screen capture when I get near that way point so I can see whats coming up.

Several months back on sidefinder site was a note that one of upgrades to 997 coming this year was if you had the SD card with picts of the already saved waypoints it would pop up a clip of that waypoint when you are approaching it. Never heard any more about it tho.
