    Unhappy garmin gone bad

I have two garmins on my boat a 250C & a 178GPS combo both are about 2 1/2 yrs old. Over a year ago they both started acting up. Whenever they are out in the bright sunlight for a couple of hours or more the screens start to go dark and will get so dark that i cant read them. If i put my hat or a towel over them for a while it will help some. I called garmin and explained this to them and they said "send them to us and for $150.00 each they will fix and guarantee for 90 days!!" Aren't they NICE!! Has anyone else had this problem??

I had that problem when I had a 178c connected to the trolling motor battery. Changed over to the main motor battery and no more problems.
