of bull to have to have two transom mounted transducers for 1 sonar unit to work properly. Period.
Get a y cable and another transducer to get it to work properly. Next, get a switch (Humminbird) and and get another transducer to mount up front and now we really have something.
Sounds like one of my nightmares.
Thanks Humminbird.

Nobody thinks you're a moron. We may not always be on your level but that's just because were aren't as smart.

I agree, I look for your post. If they are not funny they are very informative!....Keep um coming
By the way, I put a new Lowrance 520c on my boat. In the instructions it states you must mount a mandatory switch on the GPS so not to drain your battery. If it is mandatory, why not add it to the kit charge a coulpe of dollars more and be done with it. I guess it doesn't matter which brand you buy just plan on going back to the store!

Take your kids hunting and fishing, and you won't be hunting your kids
Why not mount the HB transducer like any other one. Then adjust it so it works? I have read of guys haveing fine results up to about 50mph. They do complain of a roostertail. Is that the problem? I think you can fix that with a bit of angle plastic.
My Lowrance transducers all shoot water up too. I never really liked it, but oh well.
I don't take you for a moron. Some of the stuff you post shows you are very intelligent. But you do whine almost as much as my 4 year old daughter.

You call it whining, I call it being technically literate.
Furthermore, my stuff works perfectly. It is others that bring stuff to me with problems that they themselves can't solve or have difficulty solving and receive little help from tech support. It is one thing to set at a tech support desk and suggest, it is another thing to implement suggestions.
I speak for the people. The stuff should work per instructions on the box, not suggestions or recommendations per phone calls. I am a consumer advocate. These people ain't my friend. They want our money. It is their job to appease us and get our money. MHO

Iffing defined - the fine art of explaining how things ought to be as per Sherriff Andy Taylor on Mayberry.
Iffen- I was a high falutin technocracy company and iffen I wanted the hordes of fishermen to assault the cash registers with my product in their grubby hands. I would want the product to work well and integrate as smooth as possible with end users.
Iffen - I were running this company. My product would have the hardware to be mounted and used from a 10' jon boat to the ultimate money pit.
Iffen- I was doing the hiring my entire staff from secretaries to research and development would be fisherfolk
Iffen- I were this person I would read Canepoles postings very closely. He ain't talking trash. This is what known as refining and improvement.
You all see how iffing works now . Now Barney on the other hand........

The stepped transom used on many modern hulls is the source of the problem. The aft most step can actually come clear of the water at higher speeds and the transducer no longer provides a reading. This design moves the turbulence from the transom forward away from the prop allowing the motor to run more efficiently. The only solution I can think of for this situation is a second transducer that can be mounted inside the hull or through the hull forward of the step to provide readings at high speeds.
I have a stepped transom on my boat but the aft most step never quite clears the water on my boat. There is a lot of noise, but I still can get depth readings while on plane at the speeds I prefer to run.
