It should be like crappiekiller posted. 15" to the side of the motor. As it will srue screw the water to the prop up if you do not.
Also mine does not hit the motor. But if it does just tilt it up and clear it.
Just took mine off the old boat today.
So I get to mount it again in a few weeks.

Killers got it. This way you only make two holes no mater how many times or transducers you have.

Amen, to the Transom Saver board esp the larger one. No holes below the waterline.
Transom savers, if you just use screws above waterline how do you secure it below the water line?
I drill a hole on each side and bolt it. You can go below the water line, you just want to use a good sealer, forget what its called with out looking it up.

Thanks for the tip on the transom saver. I cant beleive I was unaware of that product..but i was. When you said 15" to the right...did you mean to the right when your in the boat looking back to the transom...or to the right when you standing behind the boat looking at it. Not sure which "right" you meant.
when you are looking at the boat from the rear.
It would be on the right side looking at the prop.
this mount cuts down on prop wash when you have the big motor going.
