Default Mounting a Transducer on Trolling Motor?

Which way does the transducer point when mounted? Lowrance transducer and Motor Guide trolling motor. I have heard both ways, just wondering which one works best.

I'm assuming you don't have the manual.... The transducer on my trolling motor is mounted horizonal or flat/level. You might try Motor Guide's website and see if you can find any information there...good luck

Flat part points towards the stern. Just visualize it going thru the water. You want it to go smoothly with least water disturbance.
