dumb question from old newbie

just bought a boat.got my first fish finder besides my pole seeing how deep.humminbird wide eye,with daul transducer.front ducer has cut cable so no is no good, back works fine.the problem is there is no beep on fish alarm.think its in beeper cause dont get a beep when i turn it on either.sugestions?thanks .not a killer
