    Default Terrova vs Powerdrive

Any of you guys know the difference between a Minn Kota Terrova and a Powerdrive? I know the Terrova has the regular foot control, i.e push front go right, push back go left. The Powerdrive has a funky foot pedal. Has anyone used one? I thought about buying the powerdive and fishing with the pedal sideways so I could use it like regular controls.

Any info. you guys can provide as I am looking at purchasing a new Auto Pilot soon and don't want to end up with the wrong product. I like the Terrova pedal but the price of the Powerdrive is tempting.

    Thanks,
    CH

Terrova is a much easier motor to stow and deploy. I personally would rather have the V2 foot pedal as the terrovas is big and crowds the deck. I also don`t like the placement of the constant switch on this pedal. Though with autopilot you hardly use the pedal anyway.

They don't deploy the same? Can you explain the difference in the deployment procedures. Thanks, crappielimits.

I have used my Terrova a couple of times, and it is vastly superior to the regular Power Drive. The deploy/stow is much improved. The foot control is a lot more substantial. The copilot can be used with the foot control attached, and it has more speed increments. All-around better machine.

I guess I am lucky never had any problems deploying my powerdrive. And everyone I have shown how I do it. Never have any problem after that.
But I have a new Terrova on the way. If you have not orderd by the time I get mine on the water. WE can find a time and let you try it out.

Is that browns creek lake in the picture of your boat?
Also fished Friday for sauger. And guess they did not like the floods we got Thursday. AS the river was muddy. and only one bite and caught it. 13" sauger.

SHHHH! You're telling my secrets, Shiloh.

Fished Sat. caught a bunch of stripe, no sauger, no smallmouth. Trying to get myself mentally prepared for that Sat. weather!

I've not used the Terrova, but I like the foot control pedal on my Powerdrive
V2. Push left, go left, push right, go right. Everything is right there so all I have to do is put weight on one side of the foot or the other to control my turns while keeping my foot on the "go button". I always had a sore leg with my old style foot control on my old tm. Also, you can get the fully remote pedal with no cord or the one with the like 20 foot long cord like I have and use the tm from anywhere in the boat. The deployment could be a little easier, but once you've done it a few times it's not bad. Still wish it had a rope though.
