    Default duel mounts on 797

I have no experience with fish finders. I have a cheap Lowrance on the console which is only good to give depth and bottom contour. I'm looking at perhaps a HB 797. My question is since so much money is invested on one unit, "would it be practical to set it up so as it can be used from the console to navigate and search, and then move the unit to the TM for fishing, using two transducers, one on the TM and one on the transom. Thanks in advance for any help.

HB makes the SI HSK mounting kit and I think the transducer will mount to your trolling motor. If I remenber right theres slots for a clamp. Give HB a call to make sure. It's a switch and transducer and you will loss your SI on the front. I also us the big ram mounts From www.expressmounts.com. Thats the only place I can find them

PawPaw what U want to do will work just fine, U will need two different typs of trans ducer. The standard model for back of boat for driving & ask humbird for a trolling motor model ducer, another 180-200$. Remember side looking is done mainly between 2 to 8mph, but if set in area of clean boat bottom many people still get depth & down reading to 20-40 mph.
