987c vs. 997c

What are the differences here, does anyone know - is it worth spending a little extra for the newer model since they will both do the side imaging?

Updates are just that the 997 has 450 and 800 where the 987 does not have 800. It is also a lil bigger screen which means more clearer pics I have the 997 now and had the 987 and will be upgrading to the 1197 the daddy of them all. You can see things with both the 997 and 987 but I feel that the 997 shows objects much better than the 987

Doesn't the 987 use 250khz and 450khz for side scan, some where around 250 any way. I've heard some people claim the 250 has some advantages in certain circumstances, like salt water.

800 what? Is the 987 better that the 797c2?

800 pixel count.There's a huge difference between the 987 and the 997 I had both and the 997 screen won hands down.The screen on the 797 is an awesome just not as wide as the 997.The screen from the 797 was actually used in military jet fighters.PJ
