Your second pic is indeed what I mentioned about some guys mounting under the step ... once again check motor clearance if you mount it there ...

ok good deal thanks! I’m going to test it tomorrow on that extended piece and if it works, change that out to a piece of 3/4” against the transom like I already have but just lowered.

It definitely clears there in the sweep there. The engine is trimmed all the way down there.. I’d bet that area would work good, especially if there’s waves/rougher water

Fixed this issue. Just thought I would update this in case someone else has the same problem. The hull step was causing the issue I believe. I mounted it lower as seen in the pic and it's clear now.

I had a similar look on my sideview and when the transducer was mounted I had no storage on my 1648 war eagle . After putting a gun box on the boat everything went in there . Along with coolers of ice ,the weight distribution was causing my problem . Easy fix before drilling .
