LS on Trolling motor shaft

Hey folks,
I did a search and can't seem to get a definitive answer to my question...I am moving my LVS32 from a Seelite pole to my trolling motor shaft as I have determined that it fits my fishing style better than having an independent pole system. My question is: Do I use the same mount that I have on the pole or do I need something special? I only use it in forward mode if that matters. Thanks in advance!!

No, you shouldn't need anything other than the mount bracket & the rubber insert that comes with the mount. It should mount to the trolling motor shaft the same way it did on the vertical pole.

I have mine mounted on the left side of the trolling motor shaft with the top edge of the LVS32 level with the water's surface. Some people click the front of it up 1-2 clicks so they can see their jig(s) splashdown in order to tell if they've cast their bait to the proper direction. The only tradeoff to doing that is there'll be less distance "behind" the transducer showing on the screen.

The only thing "special" that's required is the mounting bracket for using the Livescope in Perspective Mode, if you use that function. If you're going to use it in Forward/Down Mode, then the same mounting system you used on the pole will work on the trolling motor shaft.

Thank you!! I am planning on doing it tomorrow and was scared I needed a different mount. I do have a perspective mount that I can change over to if I ever decide I want to use that function....or would it be beneficial to go ahead and mount the ducer on there?

Unless you're gonna fish in water <10ft deep a lot, I'd just hang onto the Perspective mount and go ahead and put the transducer on the shaft with the regular mount. You can always switch them out if you need to ... just be sure you've got the proper sized Allen Wrench handy.

Most of the time, I don't mind my LVS32 on the trolling motor, especially jig fishing and can control the boat easily. There are a few times when spider rigging or spot locked when I wish it was back onto pole.

I talk to a few tournament crappie guys at Bass Pro Shop and none of them use poles. The snipe crappie so boat control is the must important thing to them. For them brakes on a boat is second most important piece of equipment they have on their boats. They said the only time they ever use spotlock is when they take a leak off the back of the boat. Using a pole and spotlock is best for fishing brushpiles and shooting docks. My favorite setup was with a hand control trolling motor with a foot switch with the transducer on the trolling motor. I could rotate the transducer with the hand control and move the trolling motor by tapping the foot switch. I love the control I had but I did not have the ability to spotlock. I often think about moving back to my old method.

That's what I have....it can be done but you'll need the cornfield crappie mount for the livescope.
