“auto tuning”.
Some fish finders, such as the Lowrance one we mentioned above, have autotuning sonar settings. This means that there is a built-in sonar function that automatically adjusts your settings as you fish so that you get the most optimal image.
I have a rig setup using a Trolling Motor 2D Transducer on a stick hooked to a 999CI HD SI Humminbird first. Planning 2 tests today, one using Jigging Mode another using the largest display available of the RTS (Real Time Sonar) window. I want to see if structure direction can be determined using Legacy equipment. Garmin is dragging their feet on a answer of why their Panoptix PS-22TR transducers start freezing in less than a year when used regularly. When I get to about 200 hours the transducers start freezing. If this works I plan a video with instructions. Maybe we can fish without Livescope or other brands at $1500 a pop costs. I have numerous units of both brands to experiment with. Transducers too. Tired of high dollar equipment just used for direction of structure. For those who want to see the fish to place a jig in their mouth this won't work for them. Wouldn't it be nice to just flip a sonar transducer switch to change over to another view on the same display? If any kind of success a new thread in the Main will be posted so everyone sees it.
